Fearing the Wilderness

The world can be a cruel and lonely place, tempting us and beckoning us deeper to the darkness. Wilderness is considered to be desolate, uninhabitable, and barren like a wasteland. Going through the wilderness isn't about who can cut down the most trees figuratively, it is about passing the test. It is not something to be feared, for the test God has prepared for you, he has already given you victory over. It is not surviving the physical manifestation of our trials that changes us, but rather the emotional growth and spiritual rebirth that can only be found when you venture out unto the wilderness.

I know the journey will be long, will be difficult and I will want to quit long before I reach the finish line - which now that I think about it, I don't think there IS a finish line with wilderness, God just brings you in and out of it; for me, I think the part is the thing I need to be reminded of, is that old saying "if God'll bring you to it, he'll bring you through it".. yes God WILL bring me through this wilderness and I will be a better person, a stronger woman, and have more faith because of it.

  1. Written so beautiful Jennifer! It sounds like you got it. The understanding of what purpose God has given us. Psalm 46:10 - Be still and know that I am God. Don't we all fall short? I know I do, daily. The days I need Him the most, I am busy planning within myself how to survive and clean up the mess. When I should be turning to Him. How wonderful it is that you/we know this and we know we have Him "to bring us through it". I love reading your journey, as I go through my own and can relate so well. You're such an inspiration and I am thankful I found you on YouTube. You have given me the strength to continue my journey...looking up to Him again. Thank you. Shari
